Question 1

How does Interislander ferry booking work with relocations?

Accepted Answer

Ferry inclusions vary by supplier. Some pre-book the crossing and send details with your confirmation. Others offer reimbursement, requiring you to book the ferry yourself after your relocation is confirmed. If no ferry is included, you're responsible for arranging your own. When do Queenstown vehicle movements happen?

Accepted Answer

Many suppliers shift vehicles before ski season (winter) and before summer adventure season. Relocation deals often appear in the shoulder periods, but availability varies each year.

Accepted Answer

Many travellers begin their trip in Auckland and travel south, creating regular demand for vehicles to be returned north. This often results in frequent northbound relocations, though patterns vary by supplier.

Accepted Answer

Some suppliers allow additional scenic detours, while others require direct routes. Mountain passes may have seasonal restrictions. Always confirm permitted routes with your supplier.
