How To Travel With Zero Budget

How To Travel With Zero Budget

You don’t need to win the lottery to see the world. With the right mindset and a few clever tricks, you can stretch your budget so far that some trips cost less than your daily coffee.

What Are Vehicle Relocations?

Car and campervan rental companies often need their vehicles moved from one branch to another—say, from Melbourne to Sydney or from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Rather than pay a professional driver, they offer everyday travellers the chance to do the relocation for them. The cost? $1 per day.

This isn’t a gimmick—it’s a win-win. The rental companies save money, and you get to enjoy a road trip adventure for a fraction of the usual cost.

Why Imoova?

Imoova is the world's largest relocation marketplace, working with over 150 rental companies to supply customers with the best deals. We list available routes from rental companies, showing you where vehicles need to be driven and how many days you have to complete the trip. Sometimes the rental company even throw in free fuel or ferry tickets.

For example:

• A campervan from Brisbane to Cairns for $1/day, with $200 fuel credit included.

• A car from San Francisco to Las Vegas for just $1/day, with 5 days to make the trip.

If you’ve ever wanted to do a big road trip but cant afford expensive RV rentals then this is for you.

How It Works

Browse Routes: Check Imoova’s website for available relocations. New deals pop up daily, so keep an eye out.

Book Quickly: Popular routes can go fast—especially scenic ones.

Plan Your Trip: You’ll usually get a set number of days to make the relocation. Some trips allow extensions for a small fee.

Enjoy the Ride: Pick up the vehicle, hit the road, and drop it off at the destination.

Things to Know Before You Go

Flexibility is key: Relocations usually can’t be booked months in advance—they’re often last-minute, think one to two weeks.

Extras add up: Insurance, extra days, or additional drivers might cost more. Always check the fine print.

Travel light: Since you’re returning the vehicle, you’ll need to plan onward travel from the drop-off point.

Adventure mindset: Relocations aren’t for travellers who like strict itineraries. They’re perfect for free-spirited explorers.

You grab a $1/day Imoova campervan, sleep for free using a camping app like WikiCamps, cook your own meals, and top it off with free hikes and walking tours. Suddenly, that “expensive” trip becomes almost free. For budget travellers, gap year wanderers, or anyone itching for a spontaneous escape, Imoova’s relocation deals make travel accessible in a way that feels almost too good to be true.
