How much does a relocation cost

Accepted Answer

Most relocations are offered at a nominal daily rate (sometimes as low as $1 per day), plus a booking fee paid to Imoova to confirm your reservation. You are also responsible for fuel, tolls, and any optional extras. Some relocations include a fuel allowance or free ferry crossing. Separately, and not a cost, you may be asked for refundable deposits: a security bond held by the supplier at pickup, and an Imoova holding deposit to secure your booking. The supplier's bond is returned provided the vehicle is returned on time and undamaged. The Imoova holding deposit is refunded once you collect the vehicle and does not depend on the vehicle's condition.

Question 2

How long does it take to confirm my booking

Accepted Answer

Most bookings are confirmed within a couple of hours, but it can take up to 2 business days. Please note that most fleet managers and scheduling teams don't work on weekends, so a booking made over the weekend may not be confirmed until the following business day. We hold pending bookings for a maximum of 7 days. If your booking still isn't confirmed after 2 business days, please contact us and we'll follow it up.

What is the difference between the bond and the holding deposit

Accepted Answer

There are two separate refundable deposits, paid to two different parties. The holding deposit is paid to Imoova to secure your booking and is refunded once you collect the vehicle, regardless of its condition. The bond (or security deposit) is held by the supplier at pickup and is returned after you bring the vehicle back on time and undamaged. They are not the same thing and neither is a cost — both come back to you.

What is the bond

The bond is a refundable security deposit that the supplier holds on your card at pickup, just like any vehicle rental. The amount varies by supplier and vehicle, and it is returned to you after the vehicle is brought back on time and undamaged.

What is the cancellation policy

Accepted Answer

If you cancel before your booking is confirmed, you receive a full refund of the holding deposit, booking fee and any deposit paid on extra days. Once the booking is confirmed, these are forfeited if you cancel. If the supplier cancels because the vehicle becomes unavailable, you are refunded the booking fee, holding deposit and any extra-day deposit, but not out-of-pocket expenses such as accommodation, meals or itinerary changes, so we strongly recommend travel insurance.

Can the supplier cancel my relocation

Accepted Answer

Yes. Supplier cancellations can and do happen when a vehicle becomes unavailable, for example due to vehicle breakdowns, hire extensions by the previous renter, or fleet delays. While it is rare, for this reason we strongly suggest you do not book accommodation or campsites in advance. If the supplier cancels we refund the booking fee, holding deposit and any extra-day deposit, but we do not refund out-of-pocket expenses such as accommodation, meals or itinerary changes, so we strongly recommend travel insurance.

Can I get more days for the relocation

Accepted Answer

No. The number of days for each relocation is set by the supplier and shown on the listing. This is the time allowed to complete the journey and it cannot be extended, so plan your route around the days provided.

Question 8

Can I add extra drivers or passengers

Accepted Answer

Yes. Additional drivers can be added at pickup and must meet the supplier's licence and age requirements. Note that extra drivers may incur additional costs, so always check the supplier's terms and conditions. Passenger limits depend on the vehicle's seatbelt and berth configuration.

Is insurance included

Accepted Answer

Basic insurance is included with every relocation, but it carries a standard excess (liability). You can reduce or remove this excess by purchasing the supplier's optional insurance reduction at pickup. Always check the listing and rental agreement for what is covered.

What payment methods are accepted

Accepted Answer

Suppliers accept major credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) for both the rental and the security bond, usually in the lead driver's name at pickup. In Australia and New Zealand debit cards are often accepted as well. Acceptance varies by supplier, so always check the relocation listing and the supplier's terms and conditions before booking.

Why isn't there enough mileage for the route

Accepted Answer

This is usually a mistake by the supplier. Included mileage is normally set at 110% to 120% of the route distance, so if the allowance looks too low please contact us and we can get it updated for you.

I'm a content creator or influencer, do you offer discounts

Accepted Answer

We don't offer special discounts or promotions for content creators or influencers. Accepted Answer

These listings (shown as "Mystery", "Best Car Available" or a "Generic" x-seater) mean the exact vehicle isn't specified. We don't have specific details such as the precise make, model or size, only a general category like the number of seats. While every effort is made to present accurate and up to date information, a relocation is a logistics service for the suppliers and they may substitute the vehicle depending on their operational needs.

Can I bring my pet

Accepted Answer

Pet policies vary by supplier and vehicle. Many relocations do not allow pets, so always check the listing and confirm with the supplier before booking. Assistance animals may be treated differently under local law.
