Also, consider flying into smaller, more regional airports eg Long Island Airport instead of JFK or Hollywood Burbank instead of LAX. Also be sure to make the most of frequent flier points.

When booking accommodation whether it's hotels or motels check on websites like Booking.com or Agoda who often offer competitive discounts vs booking directly. The more you book, the more discounts you'll get. Consider staying in hostels to save some money, private rooms can be a great way to save whilst also still having privacy and your own space.

Be savvy when buying groceries, stick to cheaper stores like Aldi and Trader Joes. If you're eating out, consider street food and diners. If you're travelling in an RV cooking your own meals will be far more economical and healthy.
